The SPRAR project run by the Municipality of Bologna, in collaboration with various local associations, supports the involvement of asylum seekers in sporting activities as a means of fostering their integration.
In this video, put together as part of the communication campaign Bologna cares!, the protagonists are the players of the Papa Giovanni Football Club, a football team founded in a reception centre in the Bologna region.
We met up with them at the centre and later followed them to the Modiali Antirazzisti (Anti-Racist World Cup), where they took part in the tournament along with several other teams.
